macOS — paid

FoldNotes for Mac is a native AppKit app. Two purchase options at launch: a one-time lifetime licence or a subscription — pick whichever way you prefer to buy software. Both unlock every feature; the only difference is billing.

Two editions will be available at launch:

• Direct edition (recommended) — downloaded straight from this site as a signed and notarised build, with automatic updates via Sparkle. Includes the fn command line tool for scripting and automation.
• Mac App Store edition (planned) — for users who prefer managing purchases through Apple. Does not include the CLI — Apple’s sandboxing rules don’t allow shipping a system-wide binary. Every other feature is identical.

Requirements: macOS 15 Sequoia or later.

iPhone & iPad — free

FoldNotes for iOS is free to download and use. Available from the App Store on iPhone and iPad. Syncs to the Mac app via iCloud Drive.

iPad gets some power-user surface (regex search with a saved-pattern library) that iPhone leaves out for form-factor reasons.

Requirements: iOS / iPadOS 17 or later.
